RetroArch Wii/Gamecube Releases (v1.0.0.2)

Great! I noticed I didn’t have those child roms either when I tested those games last night and could not choose characters, I will download those like you have done aswell

Guys,

Is anyone able to compile a list of nice classic MAME games that runs smooth on FBA core? I know there is a MS excel file out there with the complete list, but it requires some extra work to filter only the really great games. Maybe any of you had made it already?

Thanks! C.

im having an issue. if i have a fresh install on retroarch 0.9.9 on my SD card. i get a black screen and nothing else happens.

if i copy my .cfg file and the retroarch folder to the root of the SD card from my old setup. it will load but i cant get past the welcome screen because no buttons will register on the wii mote or the classic controller. it appears that it wants to use a gamecube controller beceause the onscreen instructions say that accept/ok button is GC button B. ( i dont have gc controller to check if thats all it is…)

if i use an older version of retroarch (0.9.7) i dont have either of these issues. but i have a problem trying to load games from a USB drive, which is why i have upgraded in hopes that this version works.

any help would be much appreciated.

ps sorry if this has already been answered. i have searched the forum for a while and couldnt find an answer apart from formatting the sd card… which i tried and it didnt work.

thanks

Here’s to hoping we hear something about an upcoming release soon

I wouldn’t hold my breath, Christmas time is busy enough without coding in the evenings after a long day at work.

Figures. Oh well. I was probably misinformed about a general release window…

Yeah, there have been announcements of point releases “later this week” on at least two occasions in the last few months

Always better to not say anything and just release it, then you don’t get people like us aching for a release to play over Christmas holidays

Preeeetty much. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m using the beta retroarch build but i’m not getting the rewind to work on any nes and snes emulator. I have it turned on in the menu and i’m using a wii classic pro controller.

That’s because it’s no longer hardcoded and bound to the right analog stick. We’re eventually moving towards the user being able to bind this stuff him/herself without having to resort to any nasty hardcoding. Not to mention - certain cores will need dual twin stick controls, and therefore we can’t rely ‘hardcode’ actions like this to the right analog stick if we want to have these controls available to every core.

From what I posted in the Wii test builds thread would anyone be interested in per-game configs??

Let’s say you have ten SNES roms and a few of them have a different resolution from the usual 256*224, then you would have to go to the video options to use the proper mode and since RA doesn’t automate the video mode, one is left with the chore of changing settings every time you want to play those games. So, with per-game configs the process would be quick and simple. Think of all the cores that use multiple video modes.

So would any of you use this optional feature?

It is apparently under consideration by the developers: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1092#p9968

I’d found really useful a per-game control config, because it’s not the same in cps-2 games to config a versus fighting game than a platform or a shooter.

I’d love such a feature as it would be very useful for Neo Geo games with different resolutions.

I ABSOLUTELY WOULD LOVE THIS FEATURE as well! This will be simply AWESOME for many many many FBA and NeoGeo games!

I’m trying to configure the cfg manually so I can have rewind, savestate etc. Is there a manual to help config the classic controller. In the cfg, I’m seeing ‘input_player1_right = “right” input_player1_right_btn = “17179869184”’. I’m at a loss on how to config the buttons

Hi all and happy 2014. I would like to ask, since RA 1.0.0 Android & ios has just been released, when and if RA 1.0.0 will be available for Wii? Also, what would be the more notable changes/updates of the Wii version compared to the last one? IIRC VBA Next is reportedly faster now, right?

Thanks in advance

1.0 should be coming very soon. I know ToadKing had some finishing touches he was working on, but I think it should be available whenever those get ironed out.

Per-core configs are a major new feature. Faster VBA is, as well. I’m not sure what else.

Sounds good.

Glad to hear it  i remember testing out the VBA core a while back, is this core slightly faster (or rather, more “complete”)?

I think it’s in the same state as when you tested it, but I could be mistaken. IIRC, many games are full speed. A few stragglers are not.
