I think it’s in the same state as when you tested it, but I could be mistaken. IIRC, many games are full speed. A few stragglers are not.[/quote]
Excellent indeed. I look forward to v 1.0!

NIce. I’m waiting to check out the new features.
Btw, is it me or is Cave Story in retroarch harder than the original :Kappa:
Very excited to give 1.0 a test run. And thanks for all the hard work you guys have put in on the Wii version. I know dealing with some of us hasn’t always been easy in the past, but thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Also, did anyone ever manage to figure out the button sticking issue? I know it was a PITA but I never heard about a resolution.
I think ToadKing may have fixed it. He’s done a lot of work on input lately and I don’t think anyone has reported it with the WIP builds.
Huh, looks like it’s available for download on the main site. Awesome Will there be a change log?
Edit: Huh…just tried it and kicked me back to the HBC… weird.
Yeah, version 1.0.0 was just released, but it doesn’t seem to be loading on the Homebrew Channel. It’s located in SD:/apps/retroarch-wii/boot.dol along with the emulator cores. http://www.libretro.com/index.php/downloads/
Delete your old config, because the updated cores have different file names now, that’s why it returns to hbc.
The control pad sometimes gets stuck going up or down from time to time, I’m using a Wiimote. Is it just me or is the fba core giving a black screen??
That’s the same controller bug that is likely an issue with libogc and the wiiuse input library (which even the official devs have admitted contains numerous issues).
Bottom line, the Wii scene overlords gave us a gimped SDK with apparently broken Wiimote functionality and there is not much one can do about it. They don’t feel like actively improving or ironing out the kinks on it so what can you do eh?

All right, did that and works like charm. Thanks for your hard work! I use the classic controller and it works just fine.
This seems very important. I made a note of it on the Downloads page.
I actually went so far as to completely reformat my SD card because Retroarch simply would not load, and I’m getting a black screen. Am I doing something wrong? I unzipped into the apps folder in the root of my card - nothing else on it.
is there a reason the aspect ratio is fixed to 4:3 and cannot be changed?
If you’re on a Wii U, that is due in part to the system update and how it handles Virtual Console games. You need to install a forwarder channel for RetroArch.

Then you need to go to settings>video and change the aspect ratio to 16:9 or 16:10
Also having trouble. Goes to black screen and just sits there. Deleted every cfg there is. Previously, I had luck reformatting my SD card. I guess I’ll try that.
Update: Nope. Just ain’t working. I’ve reformatted my card. Deleted every related file. etc etc. Briefly flashes please wait… and then black screen. No back to hbc, no nothing. Thoughts?
Update 2: annnnd now working? I put as little as possible on my sd card, no other homebrew… maybe something else is causing it to mess up?
Update 3: Everything back on my card and everything is working normally. Not sure what happened, though I can say that Retroarch only booted when I removed all other apps (mmm, usbloader gx, and syscheck) and my wad folder (which had 2 forwards and 2 games in it, one of which was the retroarch forwarder). Don’t know if both or either had something to do with it.
And just some quick impressions: Everything looks great, I like what you’ve done with the menu… it makes everything easier to navigate. VBA next looks great and it’s a wonder anyone could get gba games playing so well on a Wii. Still hoping that Metroid Zero Mission hits fullspeed
Also, when I turned the crop option off and reloaded, and then loaded up Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, there was some weird graphical distortion on the title screen and menu. I realized I didn’t need the cropping feature turned off so it doesn’t affect me now, but thought it worth mentioning.
At any rate, looks great!
Are the per-core configs intended to work the way they currently do? Just curious since they work in such an odd way. They’re more like optional configs that take more effort to use than they are worth. Per-core configs sound like each core gets its own config, however this is not the case; they need to be selected by the user.
I can’t figure out how to change input buttons, when I select a key I want to change or in my case add, all it does is give me a message to press the desired key and when I do, nothing happens and if I don’t have a rom loaded I’m forced to shut down the console. (It doesn’t even shut down from the Wiimote)
Lastly the Final Burn Alpha core doesn’t boot.
Squarepusher, you’re gonna have to tell me if this is of any real use to you since I’m no developer, but I found a group that has forked a semi-official version of wiiuse. It looks like it’s at least much more recent than the original project. Here are some links:
https://github.com/rpavlik/wiiuse

Hopefully this could be a help if you haven’t already seen it.
Same problems here: can’t configure my wiimote sideways and fba.dol gives me a black screen. I did a new install on my SD. Ah, I’m launching from forwarder channel too.
that’s just just, there is no 16:9 or 16:10, just 4:3, it can’t be changed, neither can the resolution, in the previous version I could change it, but here it’s just stuck at 4:3
