Probably not much more for Wii. SP’s already past his planned release date trying to do a massive refactor of pretty much everything. The WiiU Pro controller thing is probably the lowest-hanging fruit, but even that depends on whether he and/or ToadKing find the time to squeeze it in among all of the other more pressing stuff (like getting the Blackberry and Xbox/360 releases working properly).
Was resolution saving ever implemented? SP said he would implement it months ago but I never heard confirmation that it was added.
But there is a 1.1 release planned for it, right?
Yeah, definitely. It’ll get a fresh compile with all of the latest code (I might suggest using an older snapshot of mednafen/beetle-ngp if we can’t track down why input is breaking, though). I’m going to make sure we use the modified libfat to work with stealth drives, too.
Hi all. I’d like to report an issue that a friend has with the Prboom core on the Wii U.
Whenever he plays a Doom wad in RA PrBoom Wii U, it plays at 1.5X faster than normal. He tried to set the framerate @35 and not @60 fps from the game’s setup, but the issue still remains according to him.
On the Wii it runs just fine.
Cool, You fixed the control issue in the PC Engine Core, I got 2 problems
-
There’s no 6 button or Gamepad Type in the PC Engine Core, So i’m forced to playStreet Fighter 2 CE in 2 button
-
V.R plays slow on the Genesis Core
There is, it can be toggled with L2 on the RetroPad. I don’t think that button is mapped out to the GameCube controller though.
Virtua Racing is by far the slowest game to emulate with Genesis Plus GX due the Sega Virtua Processor chip that was build into the cartridge, which simply might be too much for the Cube to handle. It should run fullspeed on a Wii.
There’s no L1 and L2 on the Gamecube at all, Only on the Wii…What do you mean by RetroPad?
I know Toad King is Busy now, So might be the last update on the Gamecube for a while
RetroPad is the virtual gamepad that you map buttons to on RetroArch. It looks like a 360 controller, basically. You can map those virtual buttons to whatever physical button you want.
But there’s no RetroPad on the Gamecube
There’s no way to switch from 2 button to 6 button
I can confirm this. I play on a Wii U with Doom set at both 60 and 35 FPS (lowest FPS to choose from) and the game runs too fast.
Nobody on the team has a Wii U, AFAIK. Unless someone can give us some indication as to what’s up, it’s probably not going to get fixed.
Can you please add an option in the input settings for switching between 2 and 6 buttons on the PC Engine core on your next update on the Gamecube version
Isn’t it just by pressing L2? Is that not working?
There no L2 or R2 on the Gamecube controller
I did test that on a normal Wii with Gc ports, and same result. The game runs at 2x times faster than expected. You can tell by pressing the shoot button and the handgun fires quite faster, same does the enemies.
It worked fine before though. Can anyone provide me a good working PrBoom core to see if that is the issue?
On the newer builds, at least, you should be able to remap the virtual L2 (i.e., the button you press to switch) to whichever physical button you want.
@ShadowOne333 Ah, now that’s useful information! If it’s broken on Wii/GC, as well, we should be able to investigate it properly.

I downloaded the cores from this topic in GBATemp: https://gbatemp.net/threads/retroarch-w … ff.362826/
I haven’t tried another PrBoom core. Could you guide me to the official one so I can test that one out too and see how it reacts?
I use only Digital Pads for the PC engine Core
So I want to map the L2 or R2 to Z and Start
I don’t use my Gamecube Controller at all
