RetroGames4K's Mega Bezel screen pics, gameplays & custom settings

Updating my 1080p preset.

If I can give a suggestion, my opinion is that there’s too much unsharp-masking going on (the effect that increases contrast near shape edges). I always felt that it tends to steal depth and the shapes tend to appear as sunken on a flat surface.

However, It is certainly a matter of taste and from big distance from the screen it can be helpful to retain a good shape visibility.

I lowered the level to default settings now, I just changed the screenshots. Does it look better now?

I managed on these settings, colours, brightness and gamma look similar to my CRT. I’m using mask 6.

Is this preset available in your pack on your first page? Wouldn’t mind trying this one out on the big screen. If not can you post the settings?

Hi, I’m glad you like it. No, not yet I’m just adding the final touch, I will upload in in a few hours. I have to make a a simple preset, now it’s all messy in various files.I will also make a youtube gameplay

Here is a video gameplay of my settings. Although the shaders are in 1080p, you can watch the video on 4K so you have better quality image possible. Youtube compresses the video. I recommend you to watch it on a mobile device, it looks stunning and you can zoom in  … There are different videogames in the video so you can make an Idea how it looks.

This is how it looks in reality on my lcd Screen.

Tomorrow I will update my new 1080p settings, soon as I come from work. Stay tuned.

Ok so I decided to play around with everyone’s presets now that I’m done tweaking for the moment. I load up the 1080p Sanyo preset and go straight to my “test game” Sonic 1, I’m cruising messing around until I get here:

I notice the waterfall isn’t blended. I then check the parameters and notice you got the “ntsc resolution scaling” set to 1.62? I’m not sure why you decided on that setting but I ended up defaulting it to get that blending back. Other than that I think it’s a cool looking preset.

It should be a mistake, it should be set to 1.65. I’ll check it and correct it tonight. Thanks for the info.

Actually it is set to 1.65 I must have moved it myself by mistake without noticing.

Also to let you know, my mega drive is with Scart RGB, and the waterwall looks with stripes and not like if it was trasparent, similar to the screenshot you uploaded, but just in case I’ll check my parameters tonight.

Ah now it makes sense. So what I’m seeing here is a representation of exactly how it looks on your tv with real hardware connected all the way down to the video input connection.

Correct, RGB looks like real pixels, doesn’t look like transparent. Looks more like stripes pure pixels without blending. I like blending, but I prefer the a crispier image and clarity over blending and blurryness, but is a personal preference…
