I took off a bit of bloom, I think it looks better now.

Less bloom always looks better to me as bloom tends to make the mask look less realistic, especially on whites. My max/limit for bloom is ±0.15

Most of the problem was that I had bloom distribution at max setting 3.0. :man_facepalming:

Any idea how to fix the horrible crackling with the FMV in this game? I opened an issue on Github a long time ago but never got anywhere with it.

Nice screenshots, btw!

Thank you :grinning:

Sorry for the dumb question… But what do you mean with crackling?

I get horrible frame rate drops and audio crackling during all FMV sequences in Silent Hill 2. Maybe it’s my crappy CPU but I recall having this problem on a different computer as well.

well I play with internal resolution in 4K, then I use Downrez 240p as you can see in the pictures. Try to use Gpu Palette conversion, inside video options of the emulator, and see if that helps. Maybe you have a weak CPU. I have a Ryzen 5 3600x and a Powercolor rx 6800xt red dragon.

Don’t flame me but I’ve never played any Metroid game!

Don’t worry, I played it on emulator, recently on Retroarch, I had the Mega Drive / Sega Genesis by the time. I was a Sega Fan as a kid XD, But a friend did had the Super Nintendo, But I’ve never played it before because I din’t own a Snes, and I can really tell you that you must play it. It’s an awesome game and it’s really entertaining… Better than most modern games nowadays.

Immaculate!

Does this preset blend dithering as is as well?

Have you given up on the idea of creating a preset pack for other users to enjoy these as well?

Thank you, I didn’t expect that  If you mean Hyllian’s setting is in mode 1 Checkerboard. I can create a pack, but how do I put it inside retroarch for next update or something…

Why not? Looks pretty smooth and TV like to me. Even if it wasn’t TV like, I like what it does to the pixels and there aren’t too many distracting artifacts nor excessive blurriness that makes things hard on the eyes.

I was just wondering how the Sonic waterfalls look using it since everything else looks nicely blended, not too soft, not too sharp.

It’s completely up to you of course. You might have to host it independently using a file hosting site like Mega, e.t.c. You can also use GitHub and you can also ask Hyperspace Madness if he can include some of them as Community CRT Variations.

I wouldn’t recommend something like this being included in RetroArch since the shaders and settings behaviour change very often. You can instead create a Mega Bezel Pack.

I can give a shot and so you can compare. :grinning:

Ok, I’ll see what can I do. Also I’ll send a P.M to Hyperspace Madness…
