ScummVM - Core does not support save states

Hi,

I discovered the existence of Lakka just last week and set up a Raspberry Pi 3 and am super excited as it looks really slick!

I’ve got most things working to my liking however I don’t seem to be able to save or load states in ScummVM. I copied the original files from my Full Throttle CD and am able to play the game. I don’t however seem to be able to pop up the ScummVM menu itself with F5 or Ctrl+F5. I can get to the main Lakka menu by pressing F1 where I have the “Save State” option but when I click this I get the message “Core does not support save states”.

On ScummVM on my Android device saving and loading works fine through the ScummVM menu.

I also tested saving on the NES core in Lakka and this works fine.

I searched around but couldn’t find any info on this in the documentation, FAQ’s or forum (or I missed it).

Is saving and loading possible for ScummVM in Lakka at this point and am I just missing a config somewhere?

thanks in advance!

The ScummVM GUI is mapped to ‘select’ on the retropad. Try saving through there.

Thanks for your fast reply!

That indeed seems to be the first part I’m missing, thanks. When I now bring up the ScummVM menu with select (mapped to right shift by default) I get the option to save. When I try this I get a box asking me to “Enter a description for slot 0” but none of the text keyboard keys seem to work. Also I don’t see any option to map text keys, only the control keys. Is there any way to enter a character in this box just to be able to save? Or perhaps it could be handy if a date-time stamp is provided by default.

Dunno, I’ve never actually used that core before. You may need to use the onscreen keyboard, though, that feature is currently in flux and will be much more usable in the next release.

For now, you can only save and it will enter default saving name (i.e Save 1)
