Scummvm core won't boot on Raspberry pi 3

Has anybody been able to use Scummvm on the latest Lakka build for Raspberry pi 3? I am currently unable to load the core, i have downloaded the core again through the GUI to no avail.

I am trying to load Beneath a Steel Sky as a first test (the GOG version), but Scummvm will not even load on it’s own, regardless of the game i attempt to play.

Thanks so much in advance for any tips or advice, Frank Bullitt.

Are you able to Load Core --> ScummVM, and then hit Start Core? Looks like the build is a month old:

There have been a few fixes since then. Seems like it’s due for an update.

Hi, thanks for the reply Rob.

I am able to hit start core when i have advanced settings switched on yes. Unfortunately this seems to restart Retroarch, without saving configuration settings (Show advanced settings switched back to off).

I have also tried using a Scummvm.ini file i found on the internet and modifying it, but still no luck :frowning:

Are you saying this is due to version differences?

Thanks so much,

Frank Bullitt.

ScummVM is working well for me on the latest release of Lakka for RPi3. I was even able to scan some games using the folder game id trick.

I could launch The Secret of Monkey Island and The Day of the Tentacle.

Hi Kivutar,

I too am able to scan games into a playlist for Scummvm, including Beneath a Steel Sky.

Not a single game will launch for me, and the core itself will not launch when i click start core.

The build i am using is Lakka-RPi2.arm-devel-20161221184608-r21729-g274b40f.tar. I am not using NOOBS alongside Lakka, just Lakka OS on it’s own.

I have not modified Lakka or packaged a more recent version of the Scummvm core for myself. All other cores work perfectly well. I assure you that Scummvm is not functioning properly on this build, as i have re installed Lakka on my SD in the hopes the core would function.

Thanks for the reply, i’m a huge fan of Lakka :),

Once you’re in the ScummvM core, add the games manually. Switching to .Scummvm launcher files may help clarify the workflow, as the folder structure is not guaranteed. Thoughts Kivutar?

Video

Here is a video i uploaded showing the issue. This is after i downloaded the core again, just five minutes prior to recording. It states version 1.8.1? Also, the website i uploaded the video to likes to give a pop up ad, sorry in advance for that, i really should make a Youtube account.

Really appreciate the help fellas, Frank Bullitt.

Well I just flashed the last release on my Pi3, scanned my scummvm games, launched them without issues…

I’ve got it to boot now using a different SD card, i find it really strange that it wasn’t functioning properly on my old SD.

Thanks for the help anyways, can i ask if you know when Amiga and C64 emulator will be ready for Lakka? Even a link to an experimental core for lakka would tide me over, i am unable to package one myself as i do not currently have a Linux computer :’(

Thanks very much in advance.
