Settings tab removed, how do I get it back?

So I removed the settings tab in settings menu, but now I can’t get it to turn back again. I have tried to change xmb_show_settings = “false” to true, and that will not work. It changes back to false when I restart Lakka.

I also tried to remove the file “retroarch.cfg” but got the same result.

Anyone knows whats up?

You have to stop the retroarch process before you can make edits to the config file or they will just be overwritten with the in-memory settings when you restart, as you’ve found.

I tried “quit retroarch” but that did not help, same result as before. How do I stop the retroarch process?

Wow, I did not realize I would have to jump through hoops just to get the menu back like it was, maybe these settings should be accessable trough the main menu if you change your mind. Also, it would be nice to be able to hide the scan tab, oh well… Thank you for the help!

It’s purposely not accessible through the main menu because the whole point of removing the settings menu is to make a kiosk-like installation that can’t be modified.

Oh, I see… in that case it would be great if we could remove scan tab too. I’m trying to set up a system for my brothers kid, but a scan by accident would double every entry of every rom, not so great for keeping the system unmodified. Still, I thank you for your help, I will simply tell them to keep away from those tabs for now.
