Side-By-Side for use with PSVR and Stereoscopic 3D Glasses

I’m curious about the following shader: …\shaders_cg\misc\side-by-side.cg

If I’m not mistaken, this could be used to produce enough of a faux 3D effect that one could use their 3D TV’s glasses as well as something like the PSVR headset to play some games in Stereoscopic 3D.

Now, before anyone tells me this is crazy, I’ve set this up before using a customized (not by me) version of the Virtual Boy emulator “VBjin”… and let me tell you, the PSVR headset and a USB Virtual Boy controller is the absolute best way to emulate the game “Red Alarm”…

Anyway, I’d obviously much rather use RetroArch, and I’d much rather try this out on a more worthwhile system than the Virtual Boy.

So… has anyone set this up for something like that? Or is this totally for some other use I’m missing?

The faux 3D is pretty shitty (disclaimer: I wrote it), but yeah, such a thing is totally possible. You’ll probably need to tweak the parameters to get everything lined up, but it’s doable.

Ok awesome lol that gives me the confidence I need to invest in those parameters hahaha!

It seems like it’s gonna be a shader kind of weekend
