Weirdly spaced scanlines

I am testing the included scanline shader (using a Cubox-i4x4) on 2 different TVs, both 1080p. On both of them I have a strange issue with scanlines, they are not perfectly spaced and there is like a banding effect particularly visible in:

  • the UI
  • vertically scrolling games
  • whenever there is a flat colour on the screen

Any ideas how to fix this?

That’s a common problem (it’s discussed in a number of topics on this very forum, actually) that’s caused by non-integer scaling. The solution is to enable integer scaling in the video settings, which will unfortunately add black borders around the image.
