What's best for HP Chromebox?

Hi I have an HP Chromebox with these specs

Intel Core i7 (4th Gen) 4600U / 2.1 GHz 6 GB RAM 16 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 4400

I’m running Lakka live from SD and I’m not getting good performance. NES and SNES games have some lag. I’m using two afterglow generic PS3/PC wireless controllers (having an issue with these by the way, controller 2 keeps disconnecting every once in a while)

N64 games are a bit slow and sound is choppy. I tried GameCube games either but is having a hard time to run those.

I was wondering if installing it locally would improve the performance. Any advice to improve it is much appreciated!!

raises eyebrow Let me get this straight…

You’re running an i7-4600U and getting some performance issues on Lakka on an HP Chromebox i7? Just curious, why not just install the OS onto the SSD and call it good? I can see why nobody else has touched this one with a 10 ft. pole…

Yeah, I know… I was shocked too with the results. But then I turned off the V-Sync and everything is running smooth AF :sunglasses: I was even playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on GameCube on 720p without issues. The only thing is that after playing for around 1.5 hrs it started to glitch a little, the chromebox was a bit hot, I guess that’s why.

I tried first with the external SD to see how good/bad it was. I’d also like to keep my chrome OS active. So I’ll probably keep it live.
