Cyber can i have a request? Its about the most beautiful dot trio shadow mask ive ever seen, just saw a post on reddit and the image quality blew me away https://www.reddit.com/r/crtgaming/comments/140d6zt/the_whole_year_and_a_half_saga_of_finding_the/ https://preview.redd.it/74ttu1e6gw3b1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=424071f08652d5fa9a249f05ad19a52422d09db3 Is there a possibility that you can mimic that shadow mask as a shader? Maybe you are really close already BTW congrats for your Neo GX Ultra presets really fine work
I could try. Shadow Masks are a bit different due to the limitations of dot pitch and the square shape of the dots in the shader.
Maybe? Have you tried my CyberLab SNES Composite Shadow Mask Sharp Neo GX or Le’Sarsh_4K_Optimized \CyberLab Computer Monitor Raw (or Sharp) presets?
Those might probably be the closest matches at least in terms of TVL. You would have to go pretty close to the screen to make out the individual dots and the Scanline Dynamics should be there as well. That particular TV seems to have some very pronounced, wide looking scanline gaps so maybe the Opposite Direction Blur could be reduced a bit and maybe the Scanline shape could be adjusted to make the gaps even wider in my preset. I did something like that a little while ago but as the gaps widen, you’re going to lose even more brightness.
Another thing you could do is disable or decrease Deconvergence.
Thanks a lot, I try my best.

Hi, I have a question regarding burn-in in OLED TVs.
I have been using your presets for some time on an IPS TV and I love them, but recently upgraded to an LG C2. After reading a bit about burn-in, I am a little bit worried about playing long RPGs or any other game that allows me to play for a lot of hours during the day.
I’ve been thinking of switching to some other CRT shader without bezel, but to me none look as good as these presets. Is it harmful or dangerous in terms of burn-in to use these presets for many hours a day? Is there any way to remove the bezels? Would changing to another CRT shader without bezel be safer?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if my grammar is not the best, English is not my first language.
Welcome to my nook of Libretro Forums!
First and foremost lets get some things out of the way.
You would have to manage the care and well being of your TV as best as you know how. While I don’t have any issues on my OLED TV, that’s directly related to how I use it overall and your mileage and experience may vary depending on how you use (or abuse) your TV.
I can’t say whether or not it would be safer or how harmful or dangerous using these or any CRT Shader Presets would be for any length of time.
What I would say is that if you’re concerned about risking your OLED TV then maybe you might want to reconsider using these presets. Only use them if you’re willing to accept any and all possible risks involved.
Using an OLED TV in the correct manner (or not in an incorrect manner) is one of the responsibilities of the owner.
Concerning removing the bezels, I’m sure this question has been asked numerous times in these forums and also in this thread. I really don’t remember off hand (because it is not something that I do) so I myself would have to use the search feature in order to find the answer to that for you. Will update this post when I find it.
Thank you so much for the thorough response.
I’m going to take into account everything you said and decide if the “risk” is too much for me. Probably will keep on using them, just without the bezel for some peace of mind.
Again, thanks a lot!
I think the main thing that has worked for me is that I tend to vary my use a lot. I use my TV as a monitor but also for playing games using Mega Bezel (of course) but I also watch TV and movies, videos as well.
If you’re going to be skipping out on the other uses then you might very well run into some issues.
Do note that there’s a difference between Burn-In and temporary image retention.
The only time I had any issue with temporary image retention was after playing Civilization V, which is a somewhat highly addictive and thus OLED unfriendly game. That game is one which can easily hook you into playing exclusively for days and weeks without wanting to play or watch anything else on the set, however, once I noticed the image retention, I ran clear panel noise a couple times until it went away.
That was a very long time ago and there have been many advancements in terms of image retention mitigation both on the software and hardware side since then. I also have my TV on a stand more than a foot off the wall. That might help to keep things from cooking a bit, which might actually help in the image retention department.
I’ve had my TV for over 7 years now and apart from some damage to the motherboard due to a lightning strike which resulted in a slow death of the board, which I replaced and about 1 dead pixel on the left side of the screen which I can’t see unless I go close to the screen and look for it everything is still running fine.
Other than that I have a plain black desktop background, hidden desktop icons and auto-hide my taskbar.
I use colorcontrol and LG-TV Companion to unlock additional features of the TV and I also use a utility called HDMI-Yo to help with the occasional handshaking issue between my TV, Receiver and PC.
These presets were designed primarily on an LG OLED TV so you’ll probably get a really awesome experience if that’s what you’re using as well.
thanks a lot fir the really detailed response, ill try those presets looks phenomenal, if you give the dot trio shadow mask a chance would be awesome, thanks a lot for your time man!
I’m new to all this shaders and they are amazing. Which one you people would recommend for consoles like the 3do cdi and jaguar?
Thanks and welcome to my nook of Libretro Forums!
Hmmm…I haven’t really tweaked any presets specifically for those but I’m sure that some of the ones I already made would work well with them.
You can probably start with my CyberLab Neo GX presets (provided you’re using a 4K display).
Other than that, just try my Console Specific Presets, you can try my Sega Genesis, Turbo Duo, PSX and N64 presets and see which might happen to fit well.
Lastly, you can try my presets that are not in the console specific presets or Neo GX Folders. For example, CyberLab Composite Pure, Composite Sharp, Computer Monitor, Arcade Sharp and my Ultimate Virtual Slot Mask CRT series of presets.
Feel free to experiment and you can also post a few screenshots to get some further assistance based on how things look with the games and cores you try.
Once you get a preset that you like save it as a Core or Game Preset.
Be sure to read the first post as that will give you a good idea of how to use the preset pack to its fullest.

@Cyber I’m responding here for : link
It’s difficult to explain and for me to capture properly but basically for me 100% mask is unacceptably low contrast due to my display. I find that even 90% mask is significantly brighter than 100%. Obviously low contrast does change colors. BTW congrats on the new release! Amazing work on that shadow mask – magic. I’m using the aperture GX presets with the small change that they ultimately reference their glass version. For example:
MBZ__0__SMOOTH-ADV__GDV
becomes
MBZ__0__SMOOTH-ADV-GLASS__GDV
