@oneshout is using the bleeding edge alpha. (Not for the faint of heart. )
That makes sense than.
we are here to test and i love it
Good luck @Duimon for your future update on presets, i have tested a bunch of yours with the last update (alpha) and it looks like you are going to have a lot of work
I don’t think it will be as bad as all that. Thanks for the well wishes.
Love the 2player ! works flawless with sameboy core too ! Fantastic !
These dual gameboys are legit! thx for these, they work great. Pretty sure TGDual accepts Game Boy as well as GBC, if your still in the mood for dual screen stuff.
I only found one actual GB game on that list, (Tetris) the other were all GBC.
yeah your right, not too many gameboy games that support the link. I think only the pokemon games and as you noted, tetris. Im always excited to add new cool stuff like this to my setup. i’ll just use the gbc one for the few linkable gb games, it looks similar to the gameboy pocket anyway
I did a bit more research after reading your comment, i was very much excited to use multiplayer features for both GB and GBC. Turns out theres quite a few GB games in my collection that do support the link.
Double Dragon 1-3, Gauntlet II, Harvest Moon GB, Hyper Lode Runner, Marble Madness, Metal Masters, Monopoly, Mortal Kombat, Nobungas Ambition, Rolans Curse, Tetris, Ultima 1-2, Yoshi.
Those are just the games i have in my collection with the official “Game Link” logo on the front of the box. I tested with Mortal Kombat and it works as expected, two player. Worthy to note that the GBC preset works just fine with Gameboy as well.
Since the GBC supports GB carts there is really no need to do another graphic and preset.
I am going to do one anyway.
haha i thought you might say just that. I spent all day revising my gb collection because of the new preset, the gbc’s look beautiful. I noticed once i got the “2-player” stuff added to the correct games and tested them a bit that the GB games lacked a certain…retro lime green glow. The gbc does that white/black thing to the gb games. Im excited to see what you come up with!
Someday I have the hope the @HyperspaceMadness will take another stab at the DMG shader. Until then there are some Mega Bezel tricks I can use.
I wish that stab will also include the classic look of GB screen
I can’t resist to the original GB aesthetic
The Game Boy DMG, (With all it’s Game Boy loveliness.) shader was a part of the Mega Bezel quite some time ago. It was bug ridden and removed.
We haven’t talked about it in quite some time but I am sure it is on some list somewhere. Probably a post MB v1.0 thing I’m sure.
Yeah, one day I’m going to get this working again, or redo it, also possibly a GBC version.
Man guys does that look nice! What a shame that one doesn’t work anymore, super nostalgic and it looks VERY real! This project never ceases to surprise me. After tinkering with TGDual a bit i finally got everything all setup, and it looks really nice! TGDual also accepts using different carts for trading and such, using the subsystem. Subsystem can be accessed within RA or using the CLI.
retroarch -L {path to TGDual core} {path to first GameBoy ROM} --subsystem gb_link_2p {path to second GameBoy ROM}
Using the CLI you can load them easily from your frontend.
If anybody wants to change the color of the Gameboy Colors change the following:
Left Gameboy Color
[Device Image Layer]
Hue Offset
Saturation
Brightness
Right Gameboy Color
[Cabinet or Cabinet Glass Layer]
Hue Offset
Saturation
Brightness
The graphic is actually two yellow GBCs. I use the parameters to color them blue and green.
Yeah I was wondering about that because I viewed the Graphics and saw two yellow handhelds. So I just thought of posting this for those who would want different specific colors other than blue and green. I know you definitely wouldn’t want to release other shader files just for color changes, understandably so.
All of these presets could be duplicated with a single graphic for each. No need for any parameters at all.
If I did everything for the end user, we might as well just not use the shader at all.
My presets are a courtesy, not a requirement. A year ago I just included a readme with my graphics and left the work to the user.
There is nothing magical about my presets, I am just taking good advantage of the features HSM has given us.
