Duimon - HSM Mega Bezel Graphics and Presets - Feedback and Updates

This is looking great!

Also if I didn’t know it was the standard night image I would think the night lighting was custom made

Yeah, the spots line up in just the right place!

Here’s a new one! (And by request I believe.)

As promised, the Sharp x68000!!

I hope you all like it. (Because I know I do.)

I did as I hinted at, made two carrying handles and connected everything from left to right, integrating the monitor.

Seven LEDs!! :astonished:

@HyperspaceMadness (This is another one that the night image looks custom made for!)

If I can find a good source image I will probably do some vintage details on the monitor. :upside_down_face:

While searching, I discovered that the volume control is not a groove, but a knob. (I will have to fix that!)

There are some really cool details on the monitor. (With the potential for 2 more lit LEDs!)

I will probably do one like this…

cz-602d-gy_1

(That will have to wait for a future shader update.)

and maybe a simpler one that will work with the generated bezel & frame.

BTW. What does everybody think of the orange floppy disks?

Wow, that Sharp bezel is one of your best yet. Cool idea for the layout design. That PC system has awesome games on par with SNES. Better in some cases. I just wish loading games was better managed for the emulation. It can be a bit of pain to get multi disc games to run.

Thank you! I have been running it around in my head for a while. It is nice to have it finally executed. (It is one of my favorites so far.)

Yeah, when I set this up to run in MAME, I cultivated 95 single disk games. I haven’t done much emulating this system in RA.

Thanks for all your contributions. You help the community flourish.

Did some work on this.

Vintage enough. :slightly_smiling_face:

I will also have an alternate preset that uses the standard bezel.

Lit LEDs on the frame, at night, will come later. (As soon as our busy friend HSM has a little more time on his hands.)

BTW. This uses standard shader features, so the bezel and frame can be scaled normally. :astonished:

@HyperspaceMadness The outer curvature came in handy on this one!

Really nice

One thing that I’m not that fond of though with the LEDs is that they’re all ON. This may sound a bit OCD, but… Normally when a game is finished loading the floppy drive and HD leds go OFF, so I find it a bit distracting that they’re continually ON while I’m playing a game.

These things are becoming so realistic that I’m thinking there’s a hardware defect with all these LEDs staying ON that I need to fix

Bottom line for me is that personally I find too many LEDs distracting, it becomes a gimmick then instead of added realism.

This latest X68000 with the monitor is so beautiful that I hope you can also make a version where only the power LED from the computer (and/or the Hz selector) and the monitor are on.

Well, to be accurate, I could turn off the floppy read/write and the hd busy LEDs, that would leave 4 LEDs on. (I think the developers of this system liked LEDs as much as I do!) How’s that for a compromise? :innocent: (It would be more realistic too.)

In MAME there are hardware hooks for all of these and these LEDs actually function! No standalone emulators (And not RA.) can do this.

Just wanted to mention that the way the leds are now implemented as a separate image you can relatively easily open up the led image and erase/delete the leds you don’t want.

Nice! Glad it had an actual practical usage

This will work for the night image. :slightly_smiling_face: I am going to try and turn all the LEDs off and light them with only the LED image.

If it goes well, it would give people more control.

If it goes really well, I will add changing this in the rest of the graphics to the development cycle. (It will give me a purpose once all of these are done!)

Yes, that would be fine! Thanks!

Look here!

Nintendo Game Boy!

@HyperspaceMadness Hmmm… :thinking:

I took plenty of liberties to make the screen as big as I could. The whole thing is wider than the original, the buttons and d-pad are smaller, the logo is smaller, the bezel is bigger, and the battery text and LED are smaller.

For the time being, I am using the TopImage to tint the screen.

BTW. I didn’t light the battery LED. Does anyone want me to?

I might turn it off on the Nomad also, it feels like the battery is always low. (Unless it always was. :upside_down_face:)

I have been loving how much the night image increases the realism.

I noticed that you also benefit by setting the night image opacity to 70%.

There is still a bit of work I need to do on this. (I am missing the little “up” triangle above the d-pad, and the source is a real mess. Gotta clean that up. :grinning:)

Next I will put the finishing touches on the last few and get them up in the repo, I am a bit behind.

I am torn between doing a couple more handhelds or the Atari 7800. (It is such a simple system, I am excited to see what I can do to make it more interesting.)

There is also the Amiga stuff that needs to get done. (The C64 will be an adventure I think.)

I also really want to verctorfy my raster Vectrex graphic.

But I think I want to wait for a future shader update.

What to do…?

If it helps, I think the next shader update with the additional image support requested should be up at the beginning of next week, or the week after that.

That would be awesome. :star_struck:

No hurry though my friend. :slightly_smiling_face:

I took a tally of systems I still have to do, and with systems like the Magnavox Odyssey, Fairchild ChannelF, MSX, Sharp X1, etc. I have my work cut out for me finding quality image sources.

I have plenty to keep me busy.

that’s awesome, you are the best
