Duimon - HSM Mega Bezel Graphics and Presets - Feedback and Updates

Which preset/presets are you trying? Can you post a log?

I’m not sure where to find the logs, but it was with Super_Famicom-[ADV]-[Guest]-[Custom-Bezel_001]-[Night] I also tried a couple others and still no background image.

edit: I just found how to create a log. I’ll try that now.

BUG REPORTING:

  • When you report a bug, it is VERY IMPORTANT to post images of the issue. This helps communicate the issue better & quicker, even if the issue seems simple.
  • If you have a laptop which has a discrete GPU, make sure it is being used rather than the integrated graphics
  • Please make sure you are using the latest version of the shader
  • To help you we need:
    • What is the Preset filename?
    • Which Core?
    • Core Internal Res, 1x, 2x etc?
  • If the shader not loading or crashing you MUST INCLUDE A LOG for us to help you.
  • How to Generate a Log:
    • Go to Settings
    • Enter Logging
    • Activate Logging Verbosity

I seem to have fixed it somehow. Sorry for the trouble!

Hey guys! I was wondering if any of you had a pretty realistic setup for the Sega Dreamcast  I’m using Duimon’s presets but I can’t get good results! It’s probably due to my settings lol! Thanks in advance for your help!

Maybe there’s something wrong with my presets?

Could you post a screenshot and explain your issue?

@Duimon

Hello!

I was wondering if there is an issue with missing Sega Saturn LED light layers so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I couldn’t see any related LED files in the Graphics folder and the device led layer is basically greyscale so, I first tried adding to that (only _ALT version for now) but then checked other systems. Maybe I got a little carried away before checking here but I went and made a simple LED layer in GIMP with alpha channel, added bloom etc and after a little brightness, blending and layer tweaking in shader, I think I got it real sweet.

BUT… not saying I wasted my time but maybe I just missed something? If not, maybe I can inspire you to make an update or I can somehow share the Saturn_LED.png somewhere for you/ people to use? I added the file to the graphics/Saturn folder and then had to add the extra image lines into the .params (I think?) file and only did it for the Advanced Presets so far. Here’s what I was really missing seeing though: (see pic)

P.S - Love your work and most every system I have now uses your presets. First post, hope it formats properly :relaxed:

Thank you for the nice feedback!!

I’ll take a look at the Saturn LED and see what’s up.

I have seen many, many pictures of the Model 2… grey, white, and black. I have never seen this item illuminated. I think it is a button of some kind… not an LED.

If someone can PROVE it is an LED I will gladly update my graphic and presets.

Are you talking about this little one between the power and eject buttons? If so, that’s an LED.

There’s surprisingly few images of it lit up out there, but here it is on the Japanese M2 Skeleton. The light is channeled up through a curved plastic optical tube.

I would prefer a picture of the exact model… there are quite a few differences… but, I doubt they would change it to a button for the US model.

I’ll get to work on an update ASAP.

Cool thing is this will give me a good reason to update sooner than later. Thanks!

No problem. It’s kinda weird how hard it is to find images of it, but I found some repair videos back when I made my own Saturn presets. Here’s one for the western Model 2.

You can see the LED channel lit up in it.

Glad the time I spent going nuts confirming the LED color could benefit someone else as well.

Hey, can anyone help me with my background image being mirrored for some reason, happens at least for PS2 preset? Is there a setting i should tinker with?

When you say “mirrored”, do you mean flipped vertically? There is a setting for that, although it should be handled already with wildcards.

Could you please post the core and video driver so I can see if it is something I can correct with my upcoming temporary fix?

A screenshot is always a good idea.

No, it’s not veritcally mirrored but rather horizontally. I tried switching to ps1 bezel and the background picture is not being mirrored, only for ps2 bezel (and drez variants).

ps2 bezel (background image is mirrored for some reason): https://ibb.co/99ZbvTPv ps1 bezel (working as intended): https://ibb.co/q3vsZdHB

Core and video: https://ibb.co/m5xmM7JH

From your shot, I think it is flipped vertically. Try the parameter that flips the background.

What exact preset are you using. Vulkan shouldn’t have an issue so maybe it’s the preset.

The preset is called Playstation2-[ADV]-[Guest]-[Bezel].slangp. Same flipped image is on night and drez variants. Haven’t been able to check all of them.

I’ll give the presets a test run. There is always a chance of an old setting creeping through.
