Hgoda90 - Mega Bezel Graphics + Varieties

Outrun, Space Harrier etc look great with the mame preset, just needs that Sega logo :+1:

Done with the graphics, so the fun of the presets can start.

I am thinking of setting it with Mega Bezel as well.

I am going to be taking the manufacturer idea and doing them as MAME variations.

Working on changing MegaLab around currently. I am thinking of having the speaker mesh matching the background and getting rid of the “covers”.

Much better ,was this after our discussion about the bright circles ?

Yeah it was. I honestly started to get bugged by the stripes as well.

The colors as squares keeps everything clean and small. I thought this way I could include all the console colors without them being too strong. I got the idea from somewhere that has colored squares but I don’t remember specifically where.

I like the speakers and grills, and I’m sure whatever you decide will be great, I just thought the orange etc was a bit too bright and distracted from the game , and I’m looking forward to the manufacturer ones, and testing them :grin::grin:

After spending at least 2 hours doing different speaker designs, in the end I just made the bezel a little smaller.

I am going to be doing the second redesign of MegaLab, MAME variations and MegaLab Arcade. I will try to do them in the same push to GitHub but if it gets too tedious than I will do them separately.

With the MegaLab Arcade design idea, I will try my best to come up with a name for the current one, so they can be organized together better.

Will arcade be curved ? As they were back then.

MegaLab Arcade won’t be curved since it would create a Moire Effect on the newer systems.

I’m no graphic artist but another way to make colours less strong, dark and distracting might be to use pastel shades. So maybe you can try mixing in a layer of white with your colours and see if they might stand out less.

Came up with the idea to do both speaker styles which can be changed by opacity.

I have organized the Console Arcade params and added 2_Squared demo to the repo. The demo consists of Generic, Nintendo 64 and Super Nintendo. The old style of MegaLab has been completely removed from the repo.

To change the speaker styles of 4x3, just change the opacity of Top Layer to 0 and Device LED to 100.

Megalab folders in here , they fail to work 00 – Generic [4x3] 00 – Generic [16x9]

What is the problem? The base presets work on my end.

A quick update, I thought to create a single intro image and will be adding it as well.

MegaLab 2_Squared and the Intro changes have been added to the repo.

I remembered people talking about Game & Watch with Mega Bezel and thought to test it with koko-aio as a backdrop.

DO_CCORRECTION = "1.000000"
CONTRAST = "1.000000"
DO_BACKDROP = "1.000000"
AMBI_POWER = "1.000001"
AMBI_FALLOFF = "0.200000"
DO_VIGNETTE = "1.000000"
V_POWER = "0.400000"
DO_GLOBAL_SHZO = "1.000000"
GLOBAL_OFFX = "-0.000500"
GLOBAL_ZOOM = "0.361000"
ASPECT_X = "62.000000"
ASPECT_Y = "40.000000"

I will be working on the MAME variations, I have just been doing other stuff.

?!
Ahah, it wasn’t supposed to work for dark content, since it is summed/added to the backdrop.

I suppose it does by pure luck because it is not totally black, but gray, but i’m still not 100%sure… :joy:

Is that the whole preset or is there more, maybe ypu used monochrome screen colorization functions?

Very nice, btw; i’d try to enable FXAA too.
