@PU786 I did try to debug it but still cant find why yet, it happen with 240p too
I find a small bugs that I fixed https://pastebin.com/4E60Zm5R but still has ghosting!
are you sure https://github.com/Jobima1st/CRT-Guest-ReShade/blob/Jobima1st-patch-25-11-30-r1/Shaders/CRT-Guest-NTSC.fx is also has the same problems? if so can you share the settings in ReShadePreset.ini?
I didnt have the time so I did use free claude and seems it find more than 2 bugs, the ghosting is fixed! https://pastebin.com/JpzJ8QK8 , Edit: I did clean “ai” hallucination, so I think this is the final changes https://pastebin.com/eJ2KaruX
can you try and see in your end?
Bad news is that outside of Performance Mode, things still don’t look right and you can’t use it to understand what Performance mode will look like. Very much broken.
Do you think it will be much work to add in Mask 14 (which would become Mask 15 here)??
Will edit in pics shortly.
that already added, but there was a missing change that claude mention and add, it’s in both pastebin links and you can test
if(shadow_msk==15.0)
{
mask=0.0;
pos.x=floor(mod(pos.x,5.0));
if(pos.x<0.5)mask =0.0.xxx;else
if(pos.x<1.5)mask.r =1.0 ;else
if(pos.x<2.5)mask.rg =1.0.xx ;else
if(pos.x<4.5)mask.gb =1.0.xx ;else
mask.b=1.0;
mask=clamp(lerp(lerp(one,mask,mcut),lerp(one,mask,maskstr),mx),0.0,1.0);
}else
I think that’d be the code for it…
Oh no, you’re right. It was in there and working.
Sing’s fork:
New Jobima w/fixes:
So as you can see it gets covered in these odd temporal dithering lines for some reason.
maybe it’s another reshade limitation, I will see later
anyway I did fix the original CRT-Guest-NTSC.fx https://github.com/Jobima1st/CRT-Guest-ReShade/blob/Jobima1st-patch-25-11-30-r1-fix/Shaders/CRT-Guest-NTSC.fx too
But it’s working before, so something still needs fixing. In the meantime I can certainly use the Sing Fork to preview Aspect Ratio adjustment needs, however working on the sharpness is already a certified nightmare of Guess --> Check --> Uncheck --> Re-guess
Still suspicious it’s related to this Aspect/Buffer thing. That stuff seemed to work exactly as expected in the Sing Fork…
dont know, but if it work fine with Performance MODE ON then I dont think there are something that need to fix, I may check later anyway
x.x you’re killing me. It’s basically impossible to understand fine adjustments right now. Performance Mode Off is heavily oversharpened and so I can’t really do this kind of guess work and the Sing Fork settings don’t translate properly so I can’t possibly understand what I’m adjusting at all.
It’s impossible. : (
Minimum 10x longer without exaggerating the hours we already put into these presets.
This is still a huge improvement though, so please don’t give up!!
Turns out setting Phase to 5 with Performance Mode Off fixes the ‘preview’ of Performance Mode. It’s not exact of course, but it makes a big difference and I was able to make really good progress the last few hours.
new update V8.25 :- update to crt-guest-advanced-2026-10-25-release1

https://www.mediafire.com/file/09euyaeo9m7caec/All-in-1+Jobima+Presets+V1.288.rar/file
(the reshade port has many breaking changes, so check the settings (better reset things to default) and try delete the old settings from ReshadePreset.ini if you have a problem)

you can try the last update, I think your problem should be fixed now!
What you’re seeing in the second screenshot is a Moiré pattern. If you look closely at the pair you’ll see that the second one’s scanlines are so narrow that they create a sort of Dot mask effect and those who know, know that Dot mask presets can either be in-phase or out of phase. If in phase, you get proper alignment and everything just works.
The first screen shot, has thicker scanline wider emulated phosphors and a more Aperture Grille like appearance which is less prone to moiré.
They each had the same scanline and mask settings. I still need to test the update, but I think somewhere I made a post that Phase 5 fixes it vs Phase 3/Phase 4.
It was an issue with Non Perf Mode.
I was questioning myself after I read this so I checked again. If you look at the eye or the studs on the piece of clothing or armor you can see the difference in resolution of the scanlines and mask.
Okay

This preset looks interesting, especially the balance between sharp details and performance. Regarding the scanline edges around white text, I think it would be useful to experiment with the scanline strength and beam settings one at a time. The final appearance may also depend on the output resolution and scaling. It would be great if you could share which settings have the biggest impact on keeping bright text clean without losing the CRT effect.
hi @rina101
it’s not that simple, everything in linked to each other! dont know if you use the V8.26 or the V8.14 but you should use V8.26 (you need to update to guest.r’s latest shaders Manually, that why the branch in github called “ManualUpdates”), also my presets are made to work with any 240p or 480 in the first place (I did balance it to look good as possible in any system/core)
also there are Sony "CRT Pixels" Preset which also has “ManualUpdates” updates
if you still dont like the scanline look of them, maybe you can try New sonkun crt guest advanced hd presets thread or CyberLab Death To Pixels Shader Preset Packs (and this one has per console presets), or even something else from https://forums.libretro.com/c/retroarch-additions/retroarch-shaders/11
