Odroid C2?

Got the bluetooth working! paired up my 8bitdo controller. The keys were mapped incorrectly but it worked. I tried to pair some bluetooth speakers. Kept getting “Failed to connect: org.bluez.Error.Failed”. That appears to point back to some audio stack issue (pulse audio in particular). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This seems like a cool project. Will this eventually be officially released for the C2?

I hope so because it has played everything that I have thrown at it really well. I did get the audio working but not with the bluetooth speakers. I have a cheap little Amazon usb sound device and I dismantled a set of Amazon pc speakers and installed them in the arcade cabinet. Cost like $20 for the speakers and the usb sound device. I’d like to see some more cores. Even this Dev version works really well.

I have been keeping an eye on the site and new images for the C2 have been put up. My C2 is definitely faster than the Pi3 on the N64 emulator. Hoping work continues on it! Also looks like its up on the official nightly site now:

how good is N64 performance? have you tried games like Mario Golf?

First of all hi to everyone, and thanks to contributors for this fantastic work. I’m new on this forum and I’m writing this post to describe a problem I have with ps3 dualshock controller using odroid c2 and the last nightly.
This is my first experience with a non-x86 system so probably i’m missing something but let’s explain what it’s happening:

Odroid C2 with wifi usb key, original ps3 controller, logitech K400 keyboard,BCM2035 Bluetooth dongle. booting ok and keyboard running. using keyboard -> services -> enabled SSH, Samba, BT press on PS button, blinking on but controller not working. tried a reeboot with no changes. following docs this is my dmesg output:

Lakka:~ # dmesg [ 795.819117@1] usb 1-1.3: new full-speed USB device number 9 using dwc_otg [ 795.829985@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 795.829985@0] [ 795.841255@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 795.841255@0] [ 795.852365@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 795.852365@0] [ 795.929046@1] usb 1-1.3: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 796.182147@1] usb 1-1.3: New USB device found, idVendor=054c, idProduct=0268 [ 796.182162@1] usb 1-1.3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 796.182168@1] usb 1-1.3: Product: PLAYSTATION®3 Controller [ 796.182173@1] usb 1-1.3: Manufacturer: Sony [ 796.195289@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 796.195289@0] [ 796.203563@1] sony 0003:054C:0268.0001: Fixing up Sony Sixaxis report descriptor [ 796.215663@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 796.215663@0] [ 796.226722@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 796.226722@0] [ 796.237960@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 796.237960@0] [ 796.249257@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 796.249257@0] [ 796.249486@1] input: Sony PLAYSTATION®3 Controller as /devices/dwc2_b/usb1/1-1/1-1.3/1-1.3:1.0/0003:054C:0268.0001/input/input5 [ 796.249849@1] sony 0003:054C:0268.0001: input,hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Joystick [Sony PLAYSTATION®3 Controller] on usb-dwc2_b-1.3/input0 [ 796.260882@0] ERROR::handle_hc_nak_intr:1306: Can not read device info from hub.We take it error [ 796.260882@0] [ 796.260929@1] sony 0003:054C:0268.0001: can’t set operational mode [ 796.369071@1] sony: probe of 0003:054C:0268.0001 failed with error -71

First question is: is this output ok or is something wrong with the controller? i see some errors but i’m not able to resolve them.

this is the lsusb output (keyboard not present because i’ve removed it) Lakka:~ # lsusb Bus 001 Device 007: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. Thanks to anyone in advance, and sorry if I did any mistakes.

R.

Looks like an incompatibility with the controller. Can you create a github issue on our tracker please? It’s a better place for this than a forum. Thank you.

Git issue added, thanks!

Just registered to give out a big thanks for all your efforts to make Lakka run on the Odroid C2. Yesterday I took the latest LibreElec build to test the performance (http://le.builds.lakka.tv/Odroid_C2.arm/).

I’ve tried different OS images - built from source, as well as latest nightlies where they are available. My journey started on Recalbox (and Batocera) via Retropie to Lakka  The N64 emulation performance on Lakka (GLupen64) is the best I could find for the Odroid C2.

Unfortunately the PSX emulation is too choppy for being playable. I’ve tried Beetle PSX (way too slow) and PCSX ReArmed (pretty choppy).

I’d be happy to understand why it is so slow. Does anyone know why?

Does pcsx_rearmed detect your BIOS? PSX emulation should be full speed on the C2.

In fact I did not check if PCSX ReARMed detected the BIOS file correctly. Beetle PSX did detect it (scph5500/5501/5502.bin - otherwise it would not want to start ) but it was too slow (maybe 3-5fps).

I’ll recheck in the evening and get back to you.

EDIT: PCSX ReARMed found the BIOS files and they’re listed under “Core info”. I tried using the above mentioned files, but also scph1001.bin. I also tried to limit the C2 CPU to only use 1 core at 1896MHz but emulation is still choppy :frowning:

I flashed the latest C2 image from the LibreELEC based builds here http://le.builds.lakka.tv/ and I’m playing Crash Bandicoot and Sould Blade at full speed, even with extended resolution.

I don’t get it :confounded: That’s the exact same image I’m using.

Are you trying US PSX backups or EU?

I’ve tried Tekken 3 (SCES-01237) and Destruction Derby 2 (SLES-00299).

Soul Blade (USA) (v1.1) Crash Bandicoot (USA)

I’d like to find out why I have this issue. Did you use cue + bin, iso or multiple bin files + cue?

EDIT: I just saw there was a new build (2017-01-25) and flashed it. I did not configure anything but WiFi, enable SSH and SAMBA. Guess what? - It works absolutely without any issues and plays smoothly

The only difference is that this time I didn’t download the PCSX ReARMed Core from within LAKKA. I guess when you try to download new libretro cores from within LAKKA it fetches the armhf versions and they seem to run pretty bad :frowning:

Thank you

We should never use the cores from the buildbot in Lakka. I was almot sure I disabled this possibility in the menu. How dod you do?

In the core list, there’s a link to the updater, as well.

was be surprised at the coredowloader appear in list. are the loaded “lakka cores” especialy compiled/otimized or at least fully functional for the target devices that laod the cores with? or should i wait until you packed one in officially beside the possibillity for download&adding manualy?

There are already cores packaged with that build. You don’t need to update the cores (or better: you MUST not download cores from within the updater). The integrated cores are optimized for armv8, aarch64 and neon (regarding the C2 build).

I know this is still in nightlies, but is there an official release on the horizon? Last official post was around Christmas, mentioning a hopeful January release. Just checking in because I am very excited about this project!
