P3st´s Overlays for Mega Bezel Shader (Arcade,TV´s ,and more)

It would greatly speed up finding the error, if you could please post a pre-formatted log. (Highlight text and press the little </> button.)

@p3st it looks like your preset is still using the old <game> wildcard syntax instead of the new $GAME$. Your image is named correctly.

I searched and found only 4 files with the error.

  • Arcade_New - Vector.slangp
  • Arcade_New.slangp
  • Arcade_New_V - Vector.slangp
  • Arcade_New_V.slangp

the whole base folder is anyways just for config stuff etc. if you want use them , look into the arcade folder there should be an generic vector etc. preset ^^

the wii u overlay i upload a fixed version now

done the new upload should fix the wii u overlay …and like i say the base folder is not meant to be used on its own they just are the base for all the other presets ^^

small idea for the wildcard $CORE$ feature so its shows the “channel/system”

the $CONTENT-DIR$ Wildcard is the much better option maybe some have to rename the LED image files , i will use the “standard” names like “Nintendo - Nintendo 64”

i thought about making the presets more automatic via the wildcard feature

this will take a bit work but i also gonna make the arcade presets …“automatic”…so at the end only 6 presest (for each tilt/zoom variation) are left and all the config for art etc. the preset does on it own

my goal is to get as less presets as Possible but keep every feature/preset/art so far in these new presets via params and the wildcard feature

already made a test preset for the TV overlays , that disables/enables the sega brightness fix/the psx box blur depending on the core

ALSO it could swap between the Normal or Wooden TV depending on the $CONTENT-DIR$ QUESTION is if this is wanted or if i should let them separate ?

I love that idea of using the Monitor’s LED display to show the emulated system, very cool.

This is cool. You come up with some creative stuff.

thanks , that was an idea i had longer in my head , at the moment i have not so much time …but today i have some air ^^ . so i figured the “channel names” wouldn´t take long and are a bit “icing on the cake”

also the whole autoconfig preset per wildcards and params was faster to setup as i thought …

another example how incredible this shader and its new features really are :star_struck:

little video i made of my progress today (just a few system/games) …i´m kinda stunned how nice this works .

thats just one preset saved as global and DONE …

.everything else can be loaded/enableb by the preset on its own

all systems so far included
  • Atari - 2600
  • Atari - 5200
  • Atari - 7800
  • Atari - Jaguar
  • Commodore - Amiga CD32
  • NEC - PC Engine - TurboGrafx 16
  • Nintendo - Family Computer Disk System
  • Nintendo - Gamecube
  • Nintendo - Nintendo 64
  • Nintendo - Nintendo 64DD
  • Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System
  • Nintendo - Satellaview
  • Nintendo - Super Nintendo Entertainment System
  • Nintendo - Wii
  • Panasonic - 3DO
  • Philips CD-i
  • Sega - 32x - Sega CD
  • Sega - 32x
  • Sega - Dreamcast
  • Sega - MasterSystem - MarkIII
  • Sega - Mega Drive - Genesis
  • Sega - Saturn
  • Sega - Sega CD
  • Sony - Playstation 2
  • Sony - Playstation
  • WindowCast
  • WindowCast - Widescreen

as i said it loads the fixes and crop settings etc. on its own if it finds some

it…just take a while to collect and setup so many crop params (alot of work for the future^^)

now it also switches to widescreen (for some cores/content-dirs) 8 bit systems before 89 using the wooden preset

tommorow i will check everything so far , so i can maybe include these preset soon

btw. of course this will have a zoomed and “day” variations

:slightly_smiling_face: i realized just now , how powerful this feature really is , thanks a lot @HyperspaceMadness this will be a hug time saver in the future …even if it eats my time

hmmm tested an bezel for dragons lair …not sure about that …also my videofile “game” is going nuts

back to the preset stuff

made a new monitor overlay for the Automatic preset

  • it keeps the same 2 reflection/bezel theme
  • gave the redone case a beige/yellowed color
  • the bezel is now more darkbrown/greyish ,
  • he badge on the top glass layer will show the system

i think this style should fit for 8bit micros AND 3dfx VOODOO era games and beyond^^

the badges i made for it or the systems i include so far for some i fused popular retro pc badges with the emulator or system name

some smaller changes on the overlay and some 4k shots

also so far everything is setup i just have to check the variation presets tommorow ,

and maybe i can upload a version in the evening

P3st´s AUTOCONFIG preset

https://www.mediafire.com/file/qgmnq3xxvgxn2z6/P3sT-Autoconfig_test.7z/file

This is a test release and more a proof of concept what the wildecard feature can handle on its own

how it works

  1. load one of the 4 variatons
  2. save as global preset (or as core/directory preset if you already use other shaders)
  3. done. ^^
info/readme

in order to work as it should you roms should be using the no-inro names

for the right Channel LCD/badge for the system you folder names should look like this,

  • Atari - 2600
  • Atari - 5200
  • Atari - 7800
  • Atari - Jaguar
  • Commodore - 64
  • Commodore - Amiga
  • Commodore - CD32
  • DOS
  • Microsoft - MSX
  • Microsoft - MSX2
  • NEC - PC Engine - TurboGrafx 16
  • Nintendo - Nintendo Famicom Disk System
  • Nintendo - GameCube
  • Nintendo - Nintendo 64/Nintendo - Nintendo 64 - Widescreen (in case of hacks etc.)
  • Nintendo - Nintendo 64DD
  • Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System
  • Nintendo - Satellaview
  • Nintendo - Super Nintendo Entertainment System
  • Nintendo - Wii
  • Philips - CD-i
  • Sega - 32X
  • Sega - Dreamcast
  • Sega - Master System - Mark III
  • Sega - Mega Drive - Genesis
  • Sega - Mega-CD - Sega CD
  • Sega - Saturn
  • Sony - Playstation
  • The 3DO Company - 3DO

if this is not the case you have to rename your folders/change the params in the Variations folder

when the rom names are not matching some features like the sinden border and cropping will not be load.

when the folder names dont match , the overlays still work but dont show the system/channel namer or badge

Following Cores/ports don´t work well with content-dir names so they just use their core name

  • Quake
  • Quake II
  • Quake III
  • ScummVM
  • ECWOLF
  • DOOM (prboom)
  • DOOM 3

SPECIAL NOTES

you should use the default crop setting depending on the core it used it as a base ( besides PC Engine and Sega Saturn)

i just tested the cores mentioned before …the most things should work with other cores i think .

there are a few examples in the CROP folder , also a example the lightgun border in the SINDEN folder

more params for cropping and other features will come over time ^^

have fun

for now this is an example and i need feedback and suggestions for this

reuploaded the autoconfig preset fixed a typo with the dolphin flip param

Hey… just downloaded this. There were some duplicate name/overwriting problems when unzipping. Not sure if that will cause any problems with presets.

edit Just disregard… I opened it over the previous version. Sorry. :grimacing:

yeah this uses some same files they cause no problem or conflicts.

i just made it standalone as an example and will add it maybe later the main pack,

when i have time to setup my arcade overlays the same way
