Please show off what crt shaders can do!

hello Are there people who have a Sanyo screen? I would like to know if it resembles the one I had, because I have vague memories of that screen I had in my room when I was younger.

Hi, I’m new to RetroArch shaders! Sorry for the noob question and bringing up this post from 2022! Are these parameters used with the “crt-guest-advanced-hd.slangp” preset?

Yes, the ‘HD’ version as i like to call it, can handle increased internal resolutions quite better (like with the PPSSPP core).

and where to get this tv as well, please !

Install uborder and its packs. And look for spooky.slangp preset.

Sorry guys for the many mistakes I have done with the images posted, then I realised that it didn’t look right, the gamma was inverted apart from minor gamma mistakes that I was mixing too many presets and Iost it a bit. Thanks I could find a game that the saved preset it looked more or less right and I’ve made the changes from there, also I’ve been working most of the time on my mobile device, as I tend to look the errors easily than on a big screen and it’s more difficult to work on, but it’s more easy for detect gamma, brightness and contrast mistakes. I hope this time is the good one

No need to apologize or feel pressured, just do it for you first.

Remember, no matter how much time you spend perfecting these things on your setup, no one is going to have the exact experience as you unless they have the same equipment as you and it’s setup the same.

Sometimes it’s tough to choose between more than one setting or adjustment because we might like one more today but then prefer the next one tomorrow.

What I might do is just keep both around because I can finish or improve whenever I feel like it. So keep up the great work and don’t let these things create unnecessary anxiety if there’s a possibility that that might be taking place. Just enjoy your games while you can.

The images look great in the screenshots and when zoomed in. They might look the same or different on another screen or from a distance. That’s just how it is.

Thanks for your support, you’ve always been there from the beginning and I’ve learned a lot. Sometimes I feel frustrated because I know I’m there, and I don’t want to launch the settings bad. But I’ll wait a bit longer to make sure everything is ok, and as you said not to feel pressured. If I feel pressured, is because myself said: soon I will upload my settings, but I think I’m going to wait a few more days to make sure and not to feel pressured.

Should I always use BGR mask instead of RGB, if I have 4k BGR TV? Here’s two screenshots: 1 - BGR, 2 - RGB

As I look through this thread, I’m pretty sure I have no idea what scanlines really used to look like. I thought I did… but I think I don’t.

The brand of the screen doesn’t matter. Read the first post here for more information.

Testing out a new preset that emulates slotmask vibes without being a real slotmask to look good on 1080p (Monitor-New_slotmask_rgb.slangp in 1.9.63 release):

This time a real slotmask. To hide the weird patterns it usually produces at 1080p, instead of just hiding the scanlines, this time I opted for highering their minimum height:
