I just tested Lakka-Generic.x86_64-2.9-devel-20191230223733-7b60777.img with a live image setting the audio device to hdmi:CARD=HDMI,DEV=0 the sound works but is crackling. I did not have the option to change audio device from the UI on the stable release. I solved the crackling audio in game it was core related so you might wanne try different cores.

I even managed to get audio to work for me on the stable release, not sure how I did it but I think it’s a combination of experimenting and following this guide: Lakka tv hdmi audio fix Then going to settings>Audio>Device but I’m not a 100% sure anymore cause I tried everything I could find and experiment. Altough it didn’t give me the option whan I just installed Lakka only after following the guide.

I’ll keep updating this if I get further.

Updated many times by now. My issue is solved, this post may either be deleted or archived for others to read.

I can’t get any sound to work on my Lakka installation either.

Here’s my output for lsmod | grep snd

snd_hda_codec_hdmi 45056 1 snd_hda_intel 28672 0 snd_hda_codec 90112 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_core 49152 3 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hwdep 16384 1 snd_hda_codec snd_intel_sst_acpi 16384 0 snd_soc_max98090 86016 0 snd_soc_sst_match 16384 1 snd_intel_sst_acpi snd_intel_sst_core 53248 1 snd_intel_sst_acpi snd_soc_sst_atom_hifi2_platform 73728 1 snd_intel_sst_core

And here’s my output for aplay -l

snd_hda_codec_hdmi 45056 1 snd_hda_intel 28672 0 snd_hda_codec 90112 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_core 49152 3 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hwdep 16384 1 snd_hda_codec snd_intel_sst_acpi 16384 0 snd_soc_max98090 86016 0 snd_soc_sst_match 16384 1 snd_intel_sst_acpi snd_intel_sst_core 53248 1 snd_intel_sst_acpi snd_soc_sst_atom_hifi2_platform 73728 1 snd_intel_sst_core

Selecting the audio devices option in the UI brings up an on-screen keyboard for some reason with the text “Device”.
