Hgoda90 - Mega Bezel Graphics + Varieties

I might even get to do New 3DS XL.

Galaxy

Edit: I should mention that I am only going to be doing the released versions for DS and 3DS since there are so many limited editions. Looks good even on the Horizontal View.

I’m enjoying playing around with coloring and seeing what random stuff I come up with. Looking at your preset settings helps give me an approximation and then I tinker from there.

The colors will look different based on monitors and people. I can also say there could be a little tweaking that can be done with the colors. Some of these colors would be good starting points for some, like the Gold and Orange.

Not necessarily everyone or possibly even a majority, some people are very visual and text only might be a bit daunting, just like command line interfaces.

Perhaps you could have step by step screenshots in addition to the text followed by some little tutorial videos further down the roadmap.

It all depends on which audience you’re targeting.

There are some settings that only needs to be applied to Horizontal or Vertical. The settings that have a H only needs to be changed in the Horizontal Shader and V only needs to be changed in the Vertical Shader. The light looks weird in some of these because [Cabinet or Cabinet Glass Layer] also controls the color of the light.

Thanks a lot for this! It’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time but just don’t have the time right now. One thing to note though.

Be careful using fancy quotes in the reference line, you might want to use standard quotation marks instead. I’ve had preset loading issues in the past due to that.

Your welcome and I was thinking about it myself since there have been a few people asking.

I just used the fancy quotes because that was what was used in the shader file.

Hmmm…some editors automatically convert them but I’ve seen them cause loading failure so I’ll double check on my side. They should ideally be standard, plain, straight quotes.

That is fine. I will update the tutorial part to be single quoted. The shader file that had fancy quotes was Duimon’s Preset file.

Not single quotes by the way. Double quotes is correct, just no upside down opening quotation marks.

I should be able to do PSP variants.

Edit: I should be able to do some of the PSP variants and not all, until the PSP shader is split between layers. The ones I will be able to do should be enough until than.

@Duimon has updated his graphics and presets so that the DS power light shows on a separate layer. Now when the [Cabinet or Cabinet Glass Layer] is changed the color of the light stays the same. This only applies to the Horizontal Shader as of right now.

Cyber Shader Preset Tutorial with Pictures

Pick the shader pack that has Reflection or not

Select between shaders that are optimized for 1080p, 1440p or 4K

Pick the shader you would like to use with the graphic

Open the Preset you want to change in a text editor

Change line 1 marked #reference to point to the shader you picked

Finished Preset should look something like this, with possible directory and shader file changes of course

Make sure that [CRT Screen Scaling] Int Scale Mode is set to 0.

Arcade/MAME

The same settings can be applied to MAME and you will get the same color. The following must also be applied:

[Bezel & Frame]
    Saturation: 95
    Brightness: 8.80

[Device Image Layer]
    Opacity: 0

Colorize: 1 and Saturation: 200 for [Background Layer] and [Decal Layer] for all the colors except white. Remember that Arcade/MAME colors can be achieved by a simple change of the HUE OFFSET and that is it.
