I am going to be doing @lfan’s System Bezels too, so I will just release them at the same time.
Experimenting a little with @lfan’s System Bezel settings and I think I found the right settings, that will make the bezel stand out. I haven’t started @OrionsAngel’s stuff yet, for those wondering.
HSM_FRM_TEXTURE_OPACITY = "15.000000"
HSM_FRM_TEXTURE_BLEND_MODE = "1.000000"
HSM_FRM_SHADOW_OPACITY = "200.000000"
HSM_FRM_SHADOW_WIDTH = "60.000000"
Yelp, didn’t know about Frame Outer Edge Shading.
HSM_FRM_TEXTURE_OPACITY = "5.000000"
HSM_FRM_OUTER_EDGE_THICKNESS = "300.000000"
HSM_FRM_OUTER_EDGE_SHADING = "75.000000"
Edit: Still experimenting.
I think I achieved the final product for lfan’s Bezels. I want to change the Frame’s Noise but a current bug is preventing it from being visible, so I will just leave the setting in the shader files.
What’s going on with those scanlines here? Is this some sort of rotated Magenta/Green mask?
For the scanlines, I just used the same settings that I used with the TV Backgrounds.
Can I get someone’s opinion on my idea of the ColecoVision Bezel? I only need an opinion on this one since it is the only one with a Gradient.
This frame with wider edges turned out very good.
The others, with frame edge shading, look better. Instead of trying to match the gradient color, maybe try a darker color. The gradient may end up looking a bit like a shadow.
Here are the settings for the bezels for anybody who wants them. I am almost done with lfan bezel color changes, I have only 5 left to do.
HSM_USE_IMAGE_FOR_PLACEMENT = "1.000000"
HSM_NON_INTEGER_SCALE_OFFSET = "92.000000"
HSM_SCREEN_POSITION_Y = "-9.000000"
HSM_CURVATURE_2D_SCALE_LONG_AXIS = "60.000000"
HSM_CURVATURE_2D_SCALE_SHORT_AXIS = "65.000000"
HSM_BZL_WIDTH = "55.000000"
HSM_BZL_HEIGHT = "55.000000"
HSM_BZL_INNER_CORNER_RADIUS_SCALE = "150.000000"
HSM_BZL_INNER_EDGE_THICKNESS = "700.000000"
HSM_BZL_OUTER_CURVATURE_SCALE = "105.000000"
HSM_BZL_OUTER_CORNER_RADIUS_SCALE = "300.000000"
HSM_BZL_NOISE = "10.000000"
HSM_FRM_THICKNESS = "135.000000"
HSM_FRM_THICKNESS_SCALE_X = "200.000000"
HSM_FRM_TEXTURE_OPACITY = "5.000000"
HSM_FRM_TEXTURE_BLEND_MODE = "1.000000"
HSM_FRM_OUTER_EDGE_THICKNESS = "300.000000"
HSM_FRM_OUTER_EDGE_SHADING = "75.000000"
HSM_FRM_SHADOW_OPACITY = "200.000000"
HSM_FRM_SHADOW_WIDTH = "60.000000"
HSM_FRM_USE_INDEPENDENT_COLOR = "1.000000"
HSM_FRM_NOISE = "25.000000"
Edit: I think the default color is better with some changes. I would recommend these different changes for dark grays.
HSM_FRM_TEXTURE_OPACITY = "0.000000"
HSM_FRM_OUTER_EDGE_THICKNESS = "1000.000000"
HSM_FRM_OUTER_EDGE_SHADING = "100.000000"
I figured since I have lfan’s Bezel colors done I will just go ahead and upload those. I am currently checking all the settings and will be placing them on Github after, of course.
Edit: Done.
These are awesome, thanks for uploading them! Any chance of doing Ifan’s MAME as well?
Yeah I was going to do that. I honestly forgot about doing the arcade ones, I was just trying to get them done quickly. It won’t take long since I am going to do them only in black.
Edit: I have just added them.
This makes my day Thank you, it looks perfect to me.
I am going to be releasing an Alternate version of lfan’s Bezel Variations as [Full]. They are going to be simply the bezel art and Mega Bezel being fully visible on screen.
Edit: Uploaded
Have you tried to use integer scale? Could have settings with this option.
For 256px and 320px systems I use integer scale. The exceptions are ColecoVision, SG-1000, Master System, Sega Mark III, Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo CD with only horizontal integer scale, because this systems praticaly not have spaces on borders.
This setting allows you to have a larger screen, but you would have to reduce the width of the TV frame.
That’s why my overlays have borders with different widths.
Integer Scale ON: Horizontal and Vertical
Integer Scale ON: Only Horizontal
