CyberLab Death To Pixels Shader Preset Packs

I don’t think you’re understanding. If you update your Slang_Shaders you’ll end up with the “wrong” version of Mega Bezel Reflection Shader.

You actually need to downgrade it to an older version of Mega Bezel Reflection Shader which is available if you follow all of the installation instructions and get to the Mega Bezel Reflection Shader GitHub page.

Always backup your Shaders folder before using the Online Updater.

These are from my latest CyberLab Megatron miniLED 4K HDR Death To Pixels Shader Preset Pack

They were designed and tested on a TCL QM751G miniLED TV in HDR Game Mode with BFI on.

Huge effort That is amazing Is there custom Blargg NTSC Genesis with rainbow effect?

Well the shader preset packs were built gradually over time and mirror what I use personally so for me it’s like a backup.

Good question, unfortunately the only version of the Blargg NTSC Video Filter which we can make user presets for is the SNES version and I’m not sure if it’s possible to get “Rainbow” effects from that but I have many Genesis presets which use the decoupled CRT-Guest-Advanced NTSC Filtering Section which feature Rainbows and a few others in my Mega Bezel Shader Preset Pack.

The built-in Genesis Blargg NTSC Video Filter in Genesis Plus GX produces a mild rainbow effect when set to Composite. Too much dot crawl for my taste though.

Great, feel free to ask questions in the thread if you’re having any issues. Remember the Mega Bezel Preset Pack needs Mega Bezel Reflection Shader v1.14.0, while the very first Megatron Preset pack requires the version of CRT-Guest-Advanced-NTSC which is listed and linked to below the download link. It’s installed into the default installation folder for CRT-Guest-Advanced-NTSC.

The Megatron NX and later preset packs a different version of CRT-Guest-Advanced-NTSC, which is also liked below the download link. For these the CRT-Guest-Advanced-NTSC goes into its own standalone folder in Shaders_Slang/ so as not to interfere with the default CRT-Guest-Advanced-NTSC or vice versa.

From my W420M preset pack onwards, the CRT-Guest-Advanced-NTSC shader is included with the proper folder structure so you only need to copy everything in the zip to your Shaders folder.

My W420M SDR presets are all Shadow/Dot Mask and look best using the custom integer scaling/aspect ratio settings, I’ve listed in their filenames.

Beware of the changes made to the Scaling section of the newest nightly versions of RetroArch. I’ve found some of my Scaling settings and Overrides to be not working as they used to.

Any shader preset with IV OLED in the filename would also work well on any BGR display. Set the Mask Layout to RGB if using an RGB Subpixel Layout display.

Any 4K “HDR” preset should also work properly on a bright enough SDR display if the SDR/HDR toggle is set to SDR and the display’s brightness/backlight/contrast is maxed out.

For other display resolutions just adjust the “Display’s Resolution” parameter.

For my CRT-Royale Shader Preset Pack, you can adjust the “Mask -Triad Size Desired” parameter to suit other resolution displays. There are notes in the included readme.txt stating how to do this.

Do note that when the Blargg NTSC Video Filter Presets are applied, it appears to disable or diminish the smoothing effect of the included Super-XBR shader so you might find that some of the presets look cleaner and smoother without the custom Blargg NTSC Video Filter Presets enabled.

I think that’s about it for now. I could say more but there’s a lot already said in the first post of my thread and elsewhere in the thread as well.

Thanks man, that’s the power of ~1,500 Nits HDR Peak Brightness + Sony Megatron Color Video Monitor + CRT-Guest-Advanced-NTSC + Grade + Super-XBR!

Which game is it? Just wondering!

Oh, this is AeroBlasters, Turbo Grafx16 version.

It’s called Air Buster on Sega Genesis.

Here are some more treats from my new pack after some further tweaking of my display settings to my liking. Noticed and solved a tiny bug which affected cropping/viewport size in multiple presets as well. Will try to sort that out soon.

It’s fixed in the current update for the Arcade Slot Mask Smooth Advanced preset.

Anyway, the photos of the presets in action,

As you can see @Retro30, the simplest way to show off these HDR presets is by taking photos of the screen. The same principles employed for taking CRT photos also applies to these.

@Cyber

Hey, is this any reason why like some of your preset doesn’t apply or something?

Most of your preset works for me but some of them fail to apply. I also updated slang shaders, so I’m trying to figure it out.

There must be a reason so let’s try to find out. You can start by letting me know the full filenames of the presets which won’t load, which preset pack they’re from and post a log using pastebin.

If you’re using my Mega Bezel Shader Preset Pack you’ll have to downgrade to v1.14.0 after you update shaders. If you’re using my first Sony Megatron Color Video Monitor preset pack you’ll have to downgrade your CRT-Guest-Advanced to the version stated in the installation instructions after you update shaders.
