Jobima crt guest advanced presets

You have been doing amazing work porting the new Guest Advanced features to this, but I’ve had some unfortunate real problems. : (

Integer Scaling seems broken in your ReShade preset, causes ghosting on the top and bottom. (Not sure ghosting is the right work, but see how many times it says Testament and how many Scythes he has) Mask “15” (Mask 14 in RetroArch) is missing. The new subpixel options are missing (not that I use them at the moment).

There’s diagonal lines I can’t seem to get rid of when NOT using performance mode, but the moment I enable Performance Mode it gives me ghosting on the left and right. (see how Testament’s hair is duplicated to the left and right) When setting resolutions outside of performance mode, it won’t blend Dithering so I can’t tell what numbers I need to set in Performance Mode without enabling it and then disabling it to guess again. (and since the ghosting is there, I can’t really test this anyway)

Setting the Resolution seems different now, as before 854x480 blended dithering but was sharp for this game. (every game kinda needs different numbers, like UMK3 in Fightcade needs different numbers and UMK3 in MK Kollection needs yet another set)

Jobima:

Old Reshade Fork (same settings):

After a lot of experimenting I think the resolution settings are just off / significantly worse. I can’t get a sharp+blended picture like in the old way. (ignoring the Integer Scaling issue for now and comparing)

My Update Wishlist in order of priority:

  1. Return to the old scaling method
  2. Fix Integer Scaling
  3. Add Mask 14
  4. Add new subpixel options (number 10 because it’s not even close to the same priority as the others - edit: the forums change the number 10 to a number 4, they assume I was stupid I guess!)

Did my best to get the blending the same. Jobima Sharpness sample:

@PU786 maybe there are some bugs that happen when I did update it, I will check, thank you for the report

what “Old ReShade” you test with? DevilSingh original one or my update

Ah thank you, I couldn’t remember his name! DevilSingh yes.

so the problem start with my update to crt-guest-advanced-2025-11-30-release1 ?

Yeah that one is borked. Same as above screenshot.

good to know that (the circle of suspicion has become smaller), now maybe it’s my updates or maybe its the Aspect Ratio changes of DevilSingh, so can you check this? https://pastebin.com/S4rEgVvp it’s DevilSingh one but with copy/paste mistake fixed

I would probably forgo (do away with) the Aspect Ratio changes. They seem to work right as it is in DevilSing’s fork.

That fork you just linked has all the issues. Integer Scaling is broken. Adjustments to Resolution numbers don’t blend properly until you enable Performance Mode. And the resolution numbers needed for what you would expect to be a 480p ratio, like 854x480 are instead, … wow, 2560x480?

you mean https://pastebin.com/S4rEgVvp ? then it’s something in Aspect Ratio changes of DevilSingh (even if you didnt use the new Aspect Ratio things)

and to be sure, that https://pastebin.com/S4rEgVvp should replace the other one (if you have them both you will see problems and errors, it’s reshade limitations)

That one works! Tried to send you a friend request on Discord.

the Discord in my main PC which I will not have access for some time

so that mean it’s something in crt-guest-advanced-2025-11-30-release1 update I did, I will check when I can

@PU786 I did try to debug it but still cant find why yet, it happen with 240p too

I find a small bugs that I fixed https://pastebin.com/4E60Zm5R but still has ghosting!

are you sure https://github.com/Jobima1st/CRT-Guest-ReShade/blob/Jobima1st-patch-25-11-30-r1/Shaders/CRT-Guest-NTSC.fx is also has the same problems? if so can you share the settings in ReShadePreset.ini?

I didnt have the time so I did use free claude and seems it find more than 2 bugs, the ghosting is fixed! https://pastebin.com/JpzJ8QK8 , Edit: I did clean “ai” hallucination, so I think this is the final changes https://pastebin.com/eJ2KaruX

can you try and see in your end?

  1. Good news is that Integer Scaling is fixed.
  2. Good news is the same resolutions I put into Sing’s fork seem to produce the intended blending.

Bad news is that outside of Performance Mode, things still don’t look right and you can’t use it to understand what Performance mode will look like. Very much broken.

Do you think it will be much work to add in Mask 14 (which would become Mask 15 here)??

Will edit in pics shortly.

that already added, but there was a missing change that claude mention and add, it’s in both pastebin links and you can test

if(shadow_msk==15.0)
{
mask=0.0;
pos.x=floor(mod(pos.x,5.0));
if(pos.x<0.5)mask    =0.0.xxx;else
if(pos.x<1.5)mask.r  =1.0    ;else
if(pos.x<2.5)mask.rg =1.0.xx ;else
if(pos.x<4.5)mask.gb =1.0.xx ;else
mask.b=1.0;
mask=clamp(lerp(lerp(one,mask,mcut),lerp(one,mask,maskstr),mx),0.0,1.0);
}else

I think that’d be the code for it…

Oh no, you’re right. It was in there and working.

Sing’s fork:

New Jobima w/fixes:

So as you can see it gets covered in these odd temporal dithering lines for some reason.

maybe it’s another reshade limitation, I will see later

anyway I did fix the original CRT-Guest-NTSC.fx https://github.com/Jobima1st/CRT-Guest-ReShade/blob/Jobima1st-patch-25-11-30-r1-fix/Shaders/CRT-Guest-NTSC.fx too

But it’s working before, so something still needs fixing. In the meantime I can certainly use the Sing Fork to preview Aspect Ratio adjustment needs, however working on the sharpness is already a certified nightmare of Guess --> Check --> Uncheck --> Re-guess

Still suspicious it’s related to this Aspect/Buffer thing. That stuff seemed to work exactly as expected in the Sing Fork…
